  • Padmasana – It goes without saying, that it is the first asana which comes to mind, when you think about meditative practices. You have to sit in the cross-legged position for some time. Before, you start your meditation in this pose, it is also important, that you develop intuition. You can join the palms of both your hands, in the Anjali mudra. Continue to sit in this position and move towards your goals intuitively. Only when you can be sure of your path, can you put it to effect in the real world.
  • Makarasana – This is another pose, which you can practice for the activation of your Ajna chakra. If you connect the Third eye with this pose, it will create good repercussions. If you can visualize a lot of light, during this practice, you can enlighten your mind. You can begin on all fours, to start with this asana. Slowly, you have to lift the buttocks up in the air. This is a variation of the Adho Mukha Svanasana. In this asana, you have to fold the hands at the elbows, and rest the forearms on the ground.   • Janu Sirsasana – It is another pose, which is often referred to as the Head-to-knee pose. When you bend forward, and bring the torso and the head forward, it helps in increasing the flow of blood to the face and forehead. It also relaxes the facial muscles and activates the Third Eye. You have to do this on both sides. It is a seated asana. You must sit with both the legs stretched away from one another. Slowly, pull up both the hands on top of the head and slowly bring them down along with your torso and head, towards the knees. Try to bring the hands in contact with the toes. Ideally, the forehead should touch the knees. Inhale when you lift the hands up and exhale, when you fold forward. Relax, and move back to the original position, in the same way, you entered the pose. Repeat on the other side.
  • Balasana – Also called the Child’s pose, this is the pose, when you bring the forehead in contact with the floor. You will be able to ground all the negativity within you, if you do this pose properly. No yoga session, will actually be considered complete, without the practice of Balasana. Your mind-body connection will be ignited, after you enter the pose. You can also massage the Third eye gently, when you are in this position. This will release any built-up tension, which is blocking your awareness.

Pranayama for Third Eye Activation (Ajna Chakra)

You can also engage in alternate Nostril breathing to activate the Third Eye. Anulom Vilom Pranayama is particularly useful for you, in such cases. This breathing technique mainly balances the energy flowing through the three nadis. You can do this, by sitting in any meditative pose. You can start with exhalation first, and close the right nostril. Then inhale from the left nostril and close it. Close the nostril with the middle and the ring finger. Exhale from the right nostril thereafter, and then then inhale again. Repeat this a number of times. This is called Alternate Nostril Breathing. You can also add Kumbhaka to this practice. It mainly involves breath retention.

Shatkarma Kriyas

You can also try the Trataka, for the opening and balancing of the Third eye chakra. It is a powerful process of cleansing as well. You can easily do it with the eyes closed or open. Suit yourself.
